A time to reflect

Hey everyone!

Here’s hoping this finds you and your loved ones all well.

Yep, it’s been a while since my last blog and getting back into the proverbial saddle is long overdue. Time certainly has flown by and the past two years have seen a few more adventures, a fair amount of photography, further progress (albeit it limited) on my ultimate overland adventure vehicle and a heap of writing of a different nature.

Right now we find ourselves in uncertain times; it feels as if the world has gone crazy and life as we knew it looking more and more likely in line for a few changes, mostly positive ones over the long-term I believe. In the process we’ve temporarily lost some of the freedoms we’ve become accustomed to, very sadly also quite likely lost a number of our craft breweries, observed a fair amount of fear mongering and panic, watched the world slip into a recession and been subjected to (should one have chosen to follow the news) a “leader” or two who appear to have definitely joined the alternative meaning of the word “nuts”.

In seeking out the upside, the past few months of forced human isolation has been mostly a blessing for the environment, forced business to rethink future operational methodology, provided many with quality family time as well as the time to reflect on values and priorities, and further where possible, put the time on hand to good use. Personally, in the latter lay an opportunity for me to finally get down to writing a book I’ve had on my mind to put to paper for quite some time now. With the first draft having been completed there is proof reading taking place at the moment, which will be followed up with editing together with possibly adding in a bit more here and there where appropriate. I imagine publishing to still be a little ways off, but will be keeping you all posted on that score.

In between finishing up on that over the ensuing weeks and/or months, you can look forward to my posting a handful of catch up articles and affecting various tweaks to my website. Hopefully things will return to a “normal” of sorts in the not too distant future thereby allowing us to get on with new adventures and ventures. In the interim, there’s no harm in dreaming up and planning a few more.

Till later, take care and stay safe

Dave
