Since opting out of the corporate world back in 2003 I consider myself very fortunate in that I have spent the better part of the past two decades managing at, and travelling to, high-end safari lodges within the luxury travel industry in Botswana, Namibia, Rwanda and South Africa. When opportunity has presented, and on the flip side, fortune has continued for me in the form of adventuring overland, both camping and staying at various lodges, through Southern Africa in an attempt to get to experience as much of her as possible in my lifetime. Along the way I did the usual things and captured special moments on camera, took notes and shared stories through writing where I felt appropriate. However, the two most important take-outs obtained during this period have to be the experience and knowledge gained, together with my exposure to, and subsequent belief in, the inseparable "conservation and upliftment of communities through travel".
